Introducing our Directors/Instructors:
Linda Erickson
Linda
C.D.T.A. Stage Division

Mrs. Erickson has taught dance for 50 years. She has her Royal Academy of Dance certificates from Primary to Elementary and her Canadian Dance Teacher's Association Tap certificates from Grade 1 to Teacher's Certificate. In 1982, she was appointed as a Tap Examiner for the C.D.T.A. Saskatchewan Branch but due to her commitments at La Danse she resigned in 1989. Her additional training includes: Highland, Baton and Ballroom.

Realizing jazz was her forte, Mrs. Erickson became the Jazz Director at La Danse and since then her choreography has received many awards and her work is recognized for its artistic professionalism and has led to many requests in and around Saskatoon, including a performance for the Duke and Duchess of York.

Mrs. Erickson has taught many teacher's courses, workshops, festival adjudications and guest choreography in Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, and throughout Saskatchewan. She has included New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles in her training endeavours.

In the fall of 2004, Mrs. Erickson earned her “Lifetime Membership” with the C.D.T.A.

 

Heather Myers

C.D.T.A. Stage Division

Miss Myers has taught dance for 46 years, including directing her own studio in North Battleford where she taught ballet, tap and jazz, and successfully entered many students in exams and competition. She has her RAD Ballet Certificates from Primary to Elementary and her Tap Certificates with the C.D.T.A. from Primary to Teacher's Acrobatics. Miss Myers came to La Danse after a year of extensive training in New York with such notables as Frank Hatchett, Phil Black, and Henry Le Tange, who choreographed “Cotton Club” and “Sophisticated Ladies”.

Miss Myers is well known for her spectacular Tap Productions, which have received the Highest Award in Provincial Competition for four years.

In the Fall of 2004, Miss Myers earned her “Lifetime Membership” with the C.D.T.A.

 

Hazel-Ann Stark

C.D.T.A. Stage Division

Mrs. Stark began her early training in Wynyard, Sask., with various teachers, including Linda Erickson. She received her Royal Academy of Dancing Ballet Certificates from Primary to Advanced, Canadian Dance Teacher's Association Tap certificates from Primary to Teacher's Certificate and in the jazz A.D.A.P.T. Syllabus, Advanced 1. Mrs. Stark is a graduate of the Teachers' Training College (3 year program) in London, England where she received her Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dancing.

Before coming to La Danse as the Ballet Director, Mrs. Stark was the Ballet Mistress with the Saskatchewan Theatre Ballet. Mrs. Stark has furthered her training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the National Ballet's Teachers' Summer Session, and at various dance studios in Los Angeles and New York.

Mrs. Stark received her “Lifetime Membership” with the C.D.T.A in 2016.


 

Kelsey Stone
Kelsey Stone

Kelsey teaches the Musical Theatre program at La Danse. She has participated in many exams, competed in different festivals across Canada, and performed in musicals around the country. She has received many awards for her groups and solos, and truly loves working with the students at La Danse. Kelsey also works regularly with Fireside Singers, helping with choreography and stage direction. Credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Aida, Christmas Memories, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver! Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wizard of OZ and Pippin. She has also starred in Saskatoon Summer Players production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), RENT (Maureen) and Cabaret (Sally). Kelsey and her theatre partner, Ricardo Alvarado, recently started the musical theatre company PPL R PPL Productions here in Saskatoon producing The Last Five Years in September 2016.

Kelsey is determined to grow and foster the love for dance and musical theatre in Saskatchewan and especially help young people gain confidence through the arts.

 

Danielle Roberge
Danielle Roberge

Danielle has danced with La Danse since the beginning of her training at age 5. She has always brought great energy and enthusiasm to class, and she gets to share it with our students in her 8th year as our junior Hip Hop instructor. Danielle is trained in all forms of dance, including; tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, pointe, and modern. She has taken part in many R.A.D. ballet exams, C.D.T.A. tap exams, competitions, workshops, and summer schools.

Danielle has danced and choreographed in La Danse Alumni’s two productions: Memoirs of Movement and Letters.

 

Heather Currie
Heather Currie
ARAD, AAC 

Heather is our Hip Hop and Acro instructor. She trained in all dance forms at La Danse for 14 years, completing her Advanced CDTA Tap and Advanced 2 RAD Ballet exams along the way. She has choreographed and performed with Saskatoon Summer Players and Abiding Lines Dance Company. Some of her credits include Spamalot (featured dancer/choreographer), You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Lucy), and Grease (head choreographer).

She is certified in Acrobatic Arts, SPRA Group Fitness, Music Together, and has a BA in English. Heather is looking forward to another amazing season at La Danse!

 

Shannon Bray
Shannon Bray
LRAD, ARAD, ISTD 

Shannon is trained in multiple styles of dance, taking A.D.A.P.T Jazz and Tap Exams, I.S.T.D Advanced 1 National, Cecchetti Society of Canada Advanced 1, and the Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 Exam. Shannon has a love of teaching, which is what led her to complete her Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She has a variety of dance education experiences including working in school programs, instructing community classes, and teaching ballet classes from children to adults. Shannon graduated from the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School. While studying in Ontario, she also achieved her Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance and Teaching Certification with the I.S.T.D in Folk and National Dance.

Shannon is eager to share her passion and knowledge of ballet with the students at La Danse.
